Research and Scholarship

Dr. Kamar Taiwo Oladepo is a Reader in the Department of Civil Engineering, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The emphasis of Dr. Oladepo’s research is on low-cost designs and studies that relate to water and wastewater treatment using cheap as well as locally available materials. Within the general framework of civil engineering, his research activities address the problems of water and wastewater on three main fronts; namely: coagulation studies, filtration, and hydrology and water resources. In addition, Dr. Oladepo’s involvement in the teaching of structural engineering courses has motivated him to develop computer programmes to aid in the teaching and design of beams and trusses. He is a Corporate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and a Registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
