We are pleased to announce that the OAU-CE team has won first prize in the 2022/2023 Eco-Friendly Innovation Challenge Competition Edition 3, organized by the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE) for its Students’ Affiliate (NICE’SA). The essay competition was titled “Impact of Climate Change on Civil Engineering Infrastructures.”
The OAU-CE team consists of four undergraduate students from the Department of Civil Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University:
Mr. Gbolahan Afeez ADIGUN (team leader) – 500L
Mr. John Kolade AKANDE – 500L
Mr. God’sfavour Folakunmi OLUMUYIWA – 400L
Mr. Lukuman Oyewumi MUFUTAU – 400L
The team’s essay was selected as the winner by a panel of judges from the NICE and other industry experts. The essay was praised for its originality, its thorough research, and its clear and concise writing style.
The OAU-CE team’s victory is a testament to the high quality of education and research at Obafemi Awolowo University. It is also a recognition of the importance of eco-friendly innovation in the field of civil engineering.
